There are not many working class musicians who enter the world of early music, due to it’s
prohibitive costs and London centric geography. I am lucky to call many players my friends and
would love the opportunity to continue this study at a level I am now financially feeling the
prohibition of. I do not have family to ask for support and due to being diagnosed with a heart
condition at 16 which left me in a wheelchair until my mid 20s, my life has taken a little longer to
get off the ground than most. I am proud of the music work I have done independently and
without formal education. So I would like to ask the Arts Council for their support to allow me to
lend my voice and passion to this wonderful musically and historically significant to women, world
and to the wider public.

"One of the most interesting and innovative guitarists in the UK at the moment. She doesn’t play the guitar like anyone else I’ve seen or heard."
